Product information "Hood-Solar Panel 90W for Land Rover New Defnder L663"

No more flat vehicle batteries!
The bonnet solar panel is perfect for camping or travelling. No more worries about a flat battery when camping without a power connection!

Slim and lightweight design:
The flexible module simply mounts on the bonnet of your Land Rover New Defender and - without having to start the engine - provides eco-friendly power to charge 12V devices such as fridges, laptops, mobile phones, cameras, radios, lights, etc. Because this customised solar panel is mounted directly on your bonnet, no additional roof rack or similar is required for installation. The complete plug-and-play system is easy to install. Unlike a portable solar panel, you don't have to set it up or stow it in the vehicle, which could waste valuable cargo space.

High efficiency and excellent performance:
The solar system provides a constant supply of clean solar energy to your primary and/or secondary vehicle batteries during the day. This allows you to run 12V accessories without starting the engine and without fear of draining your battery and leaving you stranded.

Simple installation:
This solar panel solution is a complete plug-and-play system when coupled with our optional MPPT solar charge controller and can be installed in just 1.5 hours.
Durable and robust construction:
Consisting of a strong and durable multi-layer, semi-flexible module construction, the solar panels are ensured to withstand extreme environmental conditions for years without maintenance.
Reduced bonnet glare:
The favourable surface finish of the panels reduces glare while driving due to its light-absorbing properties.

FEATURES:
Our solar module consists of monocrystalline solar cells in PERC technology, which have a much higher efficiency and more durability than other mono solar cells. The extremely high-quality ETFE film is characterised by excellent light transmission and weather resistance and is also heat, corrosion and UV resistant. ETFE has self-cleaning properties that ensure the best performance day after day.
The panels have a durable fibreglass substrate backsheet that provides better heat dissipation than PET backsheets. ETFE film and fibreglass backsheet can withstand extreme environmental conditions and are maintenance-free for years.
With a thickness of only 3 mm , the solar module is powerful, waterproof and ultra-light (60 % less than conventional solar modules). You transport 90 watts of energy from only 3 mm thick solar modules on the bonnet of your Land Rover New Defender, which does not affect the aerodynamics of the vehicle in any way and the weight of the solar system is also negligible. Our panels withstand harsh environmental conditions such as sun, rain, snow, ice, mud, stone chips, branches etc. without any problems and are therefore perfectly suited for off-road vehicles.
Optional plug-and-play MPPT solar charge controller: This waterproof device is mounted in the engine compartment and is extremely resistant to heat and vibrations. The regulator automatically controls how much current reaches the battery and prevents overcharging. The charge controller is pre-wired with fuses, terminals and plugs to eliminate unnecessary guesswork when setting up the system in advance (not included - please order separately under item no. 21622 if required).

The optionally available, but highly recommended, customised protective film protects the underlying vehicle paintwork from damage and makes it possible to remove the system from the bonnet without leaving any residue if required.
Factory-like appearance: The flexible solar panels fit the contours and edges of the New Defender's bonnet perfectly for a seamless and elegant aesthetic.

MOUNTING:
To minimise damage to the bonnet paintwork, we recommend combining the solar panels with our vehicle-specific protective films (item no. 21630) , which are applied under the panels. The film is applied to the bonnet of your vehicle in the same way as conventional bonnet films or car film stickers. The film acts as a moisture and dirt barrier to protect the paintwork underneath. It is then advisable to attach each panel to the vinyl film using 3M acrylic foam adhesive tape (item no. 21606). Alternatively, you can also attach the solar panels directly to the bonnet using PETEC body adhesive (item no. 9397).
Note: The installation of the flexible bonnet solar panel system takes approx. 1.5 hours and must be carried out in a dry environment and at a temperature between 18° and 35°C. In cold temperatures, the solar panel is not flexible enough to adapt to your bonnet and the adhesive will not adhere properly.
In addition, the cable guides (item no. 21615) available from us can provide the finishing touches to the cable organisation in the engine compartment.
If in doubt, we recommend that you commission a local workshop to carry out the installation.
